I'm confused... they admitted wrong doing and wrote of the charges the mechanic built up by using the vehicle excessively.

So what exactly is the Problem? :s
  • How much of the £219 is due to the extra 800 miles?

    About £150

The fact that for 2 years I was fobbed off driving a dangerous car and paying for it.

Ask the garage for the £150 explaining how they are responsible for it.

The last occasion they kept it 6 weeks and used it as a personal run around car for staff totalling 800 miles

Oct 2016 VWFS sent a letter saying I owed them £219 for excess mileage!

Pay it and send the bill for 800 of the excess mile to the garage.

Then hope they won't be smart enough to realise that if you had been using for the 6 weeks they had it you would have been adding your own mileage and you were likely to go over your inclusive miles regardless.

Where does the dangerous car fit in with the unexpected mileage?

I already got the hire purchase agreement cancelled after 2 years of fighting. That was April 2016. Out of the blue in Dec 2017 I got a letter from them saying I owe excess on the Fixed Cost Maintenance Plan. Surely if the vehicle was deemed faulty from inception that invalidates the contract?

Why would a faulty vehicle invalidate a fixed price servicing plan? The vehicle would have a warranty to cover faults, the maintenance plan is a fixed monthly cost to cover servicing costs.

It will only show the bluetooth name of phones that have been paired to the car's handsfree. So that phone HAS been used with the handsfree.

Doesn't mean it is the mechanic's girlfriend though. Many cars use 0000 or 1234 as the code which is a default for many bluetooth devices.
