Barclaycard cashback to keep customers

Having maxed out my Egg Money cashback, and waiting for my Capital One card to arrive, I decided to cancel my no-longer-used Barclaycard.
I rang B/Card up (using the freephone number off saynoto0870!), told them I wanted to leave, gave my reason, and the woman in Customer Loyalty offered to add a 3% cashback function to my card for 3 months. Its capped at £50 per month, but that still gives me £1667 of useful cashback spending on the card each month. They also pay (I believe) monthly.
I've been with B/Card for 7 years and incurred hardly any interest (probably less than a fiver for the whole time), so was quite surprised they wanted to hold on to me. But I'm not complaining. In 3 months time, I'll see what else I can get out of them

I rang Barclaycard to transfer my standard card to the Cashback Platinum one they have and they said they cannot. The process is I have to cancel and I will have to apply for that card in 6 months time and I still might not get one.
So I thought forget it and applied for the Capitol One card and as soon as I get that I am going to cancel.0
