Cavity wall insulation - building regs notification

I've searched the net and cannot find an answer, does anybody know when having cavity wall insulation installed became notifiable work? I've discovered that the insulation we had installed in 2008 isn't noted on the planning portal for our property. I've dug out the paperwork and found the certificate from the installing company, and the 25 years guarantee from CIGA. Both have the incorrect postcode which I didn't notice at the time, or if I did, didn't think it was important, but I'm wondering whether that has led to it not being attributed to our property, or whether it wasn't notifiable work when it was installed.

2 of our neighbours also had their walls done by the same company at the same time, neither of their property details show the insulation either.

It is a Buildings Regulation issue and always has been. This is because it is interfering with the cavity wall. But the installers are deemed self certifying.

Provided you have a valid 25 year guarantee then I would not worry. Nobody is bothered about matters. However the guarantee validity needs checking with CIGA - only they can say if the postcode has any significance.

I think it was the 2005 revision of Part L. See L1b work on existing buildings.

Thanks, I'll check with CIGA. We're trying to head off potential problems before they crop up as we're planning on selling in a couple of years.

Spoke to CIGA today, they only took on responsibility for advising building control in 2010. Ours was done in 2008. I spoke to the company who did the installation, they have said it must have been overlooked and they will sort out registration today. Will keep an eye on the BC register and follow it up if nothing appears in a few weeks.
