To cut a long story short, we havent had any contents insurance for a few years, silly i know but got in a mess finacialy and this was one of the things i canceled.
Im now back up and running and clearing the debt via a Dmp which iv been on for almost 2 years and want to get the insurance back.
How do i explain that iv lived in the house 3 years but never had contents cover?
Will this effect the chances of someone covering me?
Will it cost me more because of it?
Any suggestions for the best deal at the minute?
Iv got a 4 bedroomed semi and need freezer and out buildings cover and monthly payments.
Thanks you if anyone can help i would be most gratefull

It shouldnt affect you getting cover in any way!
Just on the questions which ask you how many years contents you have, just put it as '0'. Shouldnt cause any problems at all.
As for cheapest, best to try a scraper site.0 -
I agree
There is no requirement to have contents insurance so just as you havent had it previously should make know difference to your costs - if anything as you havent had it and therefore been unable to claim it will be cheaper than for some of us!!
Use a few different scraper sites ( i say use a few as not all are on all sites)but then check a few directly that dont use these sites - ie Direct Line
Finally when you have got your cheapest go to Quidco or Topcashback and see if you can get any cashback on your insurances.
Its normally, though not always, cheaper to get your buildngs and contents from the same company at the same time0
