Panasonic seem to get very good reviews. You can look the tv up here if it's been covered:

It may be worth checking at John Lewis - if they do the same tv they may be prepared to price match Costco and you would get the free 5 year guarantee. I understand Costco are pretty good about returning faulty goods anyway, though. Good luck.0 -
You don't say which model you are looking at but it might be the TX32LMD70. I have had the Panasonic TX32LXD70 for a couple of weeks now and am very impressed with the picture quality and ease of set up and use. Wildlife and nature programmes take the picture to another level. It's a 100Hz tv which improves the picture with fast moving objects e.g. running etc. over a 50Hz model such as the LMD. Beware looking at the picture in some stores as they use high definition feeds which give a false impression compared to an aerial feed.
I paid £599.99 from John Lewis (inc their 5 year guarantee) who price matched with my local Richer Sounds outlet. It was £799 in store. To get this price I had to collect it as delivery was on top (RS charged c. £70 for delivery) but it went in the boot of my Golf ok. I know some others have got delivery included for this price.0 -
These two Panasonic TVs were reviewed by Which in October 2007. Bought the latter for my mum and she thinks it's great. Got it for cheaper than it stated in the Which magazine though, but sorry cant remember how much it was.
Panasonic Viera TX-32LMD70
Price: £650
Standards are rising in the flat panel TV market and Panasonic are clearly leading the way, with yet another Best Buy from their 2007 range of LCD TVs.
This HD ready, 32-inch IDTV, boasts super pictures, decent sound and the usual impressive array of features, such as an energy saving light sensor and audio description. Compared to the pricier models in the Panasonic range, it's missing a couple of sockets and some digital processing software (which makes only a marginal difference to overall picture quality).
Panasonic Viera TX-32LXD7
Price: £599
The 2007 range of Panasonic TVs are all great models, but this relatively cheap entry level model could actually be your best bet. It's an HD ready, 32-inch LCD TV with integrated Freeview tuner, boasts a great picture, super sound and some nifty features like a light sensor and audio description. And to top it all, it's simple to use.
The pricier TX-32LXD700 has additional sockets for HD equipment, a surround-sound system, PC and memory card slot and software that improves moving images - but the difference is slight if you can live without the extra sockets and fancy features opt for this cheap model.
Hope this helps.

Not sure which one you are looking at, but I do know that the TX-32LMD70 is £470, plus VAT, at Costco, and they have it on special offer the week commencing 5th November, when it will be £470, including VAT.
I think I did find it a few quid cheaper online, but with Costco you get a superb no-quibble guarantee at no extra price, so I would go with Costco. Just take it back, for any reason, and they refund your money. I think this applies for 3 years for TVs.
John Lewis do not match "clubs", and they count Costco as a club. But I would prefer the Costco guarantee, anyway.koru0 -

We have decided to be very money saving and not buy a new TV for our christmas present, instead we are going to make an overpayment on the mortgage. It may be a little sad but we really have got the pay your mortgage of ASAP bug. Every penny we can save is chipping away at it and then we can buy whatever we want:j If the TVs we have need replacing then we will buy a new one but until then the mortgage will benefit.0

No, though the eligibility criteria are quite wide, so many people are able to find a way. There have been many threads that cover this - do a search.moneylover wrote: »can anyone join Costco?koru0 -
Not according to the voucher I have in front of me, but perhaps they have dropped the price since they issued the voucher. I hope you are right, as I am going to get one tomorrow.£470 inc vat is the price Costco are charging now, the offer price works out at £385....400 less 70 plus vatkoru0
