Using a PPI claims co. but want to DIY

We've been using a PPI claims company over past several months. We've got money back and paid their fees so they've done OK out of us!
We're now down to a couple of old storecards and the financial organisation (Santander) responsible is asking us directly for extra info and saying that our claims will lapse if we don't reply soon.
It is going to take a little time to dig out the info that they want. Can we let the claims lapse and then start a new claim directly with Santander when we have the info, cutting out the PPI claims management firm and their fee?

What do their terms say?
They've already paid for the stamp to post your complaint and will want paying for it. I would expect them still to want their fee.0 -

Unfortunately, you've very likely signed your agreement to the Claims Company representing you in ALL PPI complaints. If you've already signed a Letter Of Authority with regard this lender, I can't see how how you can let the complaint "lapse" so that you can complain alone.
As before, check the terms and conditions of the contract you've signed with the Claim Company. There is usually very little such wiggle room.0
