Oh and then I would add trying to reinstall office using the repair option.
Did you mention the version you use?0 -
^^ Two great posts above ..
Awaiting feedback from OP0 -
I'm expect OP would be scandalised at the cost of £11/month (tax deductible) but moving to Office 365 Business and having all files stored in OneDrive with Excel online would be sensible IMHO.0

really sorry i'm not a computer expert but just someone doing our small business accounts like this for over 10 years. had a few computer issues over the years but I've managed to solve problems myself getting help online.
fully appreciate that I'm not helping as I don't know the terminology being fired at me or how to do the majority of what's been posted.
yes I do regular back ups & recovery info is available.
any need for the sarcastic input regarding cost of £11 p/mth? we're a very small business with very simple accounts that our accountant is 100% happy with each year when I send them the info.
i'll leave it there, thanks for the genuine help offered.0 -

OK, if you're not prepared to make even the slightest effort to do as I suggest then I'm out.0 -
You could back up all your excel documents to a memory stick then allow the W10 update to 'corrupt' your files.
Then open an excel file from the memory stick and see what result you get.
If the files on you hard drive are 'corrupted' but the ones on the memory stick are not, then re-backup from the memory stick to the hard drive and see what the files on the hard drive then look like.
If they are ok then do not reverse the W10 update but take daily backups of your files and see what happens next time there is a W10 update.0
