Sorry chaps but I have no intention of giving up smoking.

There is nothing finer in life than a Benson & Hedges Gold King Size Cigarette as far as I am concerned.

For 37 years I have enjoyed them and continue to do so even though they closed the factory in Northern Ireland and now make them in the EU.

Manufactured by Japan Tobacco International successors to Gallahers and not to be confused with their inferior dopelganger manufactured by British American Tobacco found in most Duty Free Outlets and a lot of the rest of Europe.

I purchase mine in Luxembourg where they cost just over five euros per packet compared to north of £10 in the UK. :T

Maybe if you didn't spend so much money on your addiction then you might not have gone bankrupt.

I don't see what's enjoyable about needing to get a fix several times a so you don't start feeling withdrawal symptoms !

Perhaps if I had a crack cocaine habit rather than a Benson & Hedges one there may have been some semblance of truth about your remarks.

However even I would have been pushed to run up £125,000 debt on cigarettes

True, however it was more of a patriotic purchase when the little gold packets had made in the UK on them. At least in Europe (or Luxembourg at least) the Gold Packaging is still intact under all the health warnings - no plain packaging there.

Over 500 people lost their jobs when the Ballymena Factory finally closed in 2016.

I can remember when the packet carried The Royal Warrant emblazoned on the front - changed days. In the eighties I had an Interview with Gallahers and all the products were on the table for you to sample. Imagine having an interview today with both parties smoking. :D
