yes car credit/direct auto finacial

hi,
First post - I am aware this has probably been asked a 1000 times but I can't find anything searching the forums.

I got a car with YCC in 2005 and was told I wouldn't be able to take it without doing the ppi. I tried to claim it back a few years ago but i had gotten married in the meantime and surname was not the same as what was on the contract, so DAFS (or whoever I tried to claim it back from) said they needed certificates etc... so I ended up leaving it. The loan was settled and the car taken back in 2007 after I paid a lump sum to get YCC out of my life. I still have a copy of the contract.

I have looked at the reclaim tool on this site, but YCC/DAFS are not listed, so I was wondering;
1) is it too late anyway because of the time period
2)if I can reclaim, how do I do it if they are not listed on the Reclaim tool

Thanks in advance
Dawn

    You say the PPI was taken out in 2005, if so then the financial institution concerned will have to consider your complaint and you will have full access to the Ombudsman if the complaint fails.
    You complain to whoever sold you the insurance. Just write them a letter detailing exactly why you feel the PPI was mis-sold.

    If they are no longer trading, you can refer to FSCS.

    The Claim "tool" is not required, so it matters little whether the company concerned are "listed".

    You will , though, doubtless be required to supply the same certificates of identification that were required the first time you started a complaint.
