Hey Guys,

Does anyone else get emails from HSBC saying they've got a new Document in My Documents and just a generic link to hsbc.co.uk listed in the email? (If anyone has one and could screenshot the entire email and from address that would help).

I got one earlier today and it went in my junk, the only link in the email did go straight to hsbc.co.uk but when I logged in there was no new document ?

Also what email address does it come from ?

Thanks
Thanks
JG

I'd be highly suspicious that that was a phishing email.

It could be that you followed a fraudulent link and logged in to a dodgy site.

I have had emails from HSBC but not the "MyDocuments" message.

It would not help you if I were to copy an HSBC email here. Such emails are easily spoofed and will appear genuine.

It doesn't help to know the email address from which the bank sends messages. These addresses are easily forged.

You should never click a link in an email. They do not always go where you might think. Access your online banking via your own saved bookmark/favourite - or type in the web address.

It's possible that you have been the victim of a phishing attempt. Ask the bank whether the email is genuine - and change your passwords if not.

The only link in the email went straight to Hsbc.co.uk and I never logged in I closed the browser and cleared the cache.

Previous HSBC emails seem to be similar format and sender and considering the only link was a direct link to Hsbc.co.uk I think it might have been genuine.

I did recently turn on electronic document delivery for some of my products just was strange that there wasn’t actually a new document available.

Oh well will give them a call and see what they say!

Point taken about stuff being easy to spoof and thanks !
    Thanks
