According to MSE Andrea threads are deleted when the spam buttons are used too often.
I find that difficult to understand. I can’t remember exactly how long the widows thread was but I found the thread on 12 week pregnancies which is 393 pages long and contains 7,841 posts. Now, I can’t believe that the number of spam hits would differ so greatly in percentage terms. There must logically be more spam hits in a much longer post like this.
It doesn’t make sense.0 -
Seems a shame to lose threads for no good reason.0

Perhaps we golden oldies are less techie minded than young mums to be and more likely to click on SPAM button accidently?"A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

To be honest, I do hit that button when I'm scrolling on my tablet, I think I've even spammed myself.
I didn't realise you could unspam it.
Could the spam button be moved over, sorry left handers!No.79 save £12k in 2020. Total end May £11610

I’m not a widow, but I have read and contributed to the thread. I can’t see why anything which was so supportive should have been stopped.
Nothing controversial, surely?Member #14 of SKI-ers club

Read post #3 - that's probably what happened to the thread.0 -
There’s another thread on the marriage and relationships board - ‘here we can all be heard’. It’s 9,796 postings long and takes up 490 pages. Just don’t swallow that there would be fewer spam hits than the widows thread.0

Hmm, still got my doubts about that explanation. There’s another thread on the marriage and relationships board - ‘here we can all be heard’. It’s 9,796 postings long and takes up 490 pages. Just don’t swallow that there would be fewer spam hits than the widows thread.
Have you read the thread in my post #3 that MSE Andrea's post was taken from?
You could always start a thread on the Site Feedback board about disappearing threads.0 -
Yes, Pollycat, I did read it very carefully. Andrea says it’s down to form members clicking the spam button accidentally. OK I can buy this, except I can’t believe that the number of accidental clicks would be less on a thread, what, three or four times as long.0
