When you are awarded 62.50 having applied cares allowance can this be reduced if on other benifits ie income support child tax credit as a family as advised that the 62.50 amount awarded to her has been reduced to £18 why would this be i just cant understand this.

    No, it's not reduced. The Carers Allowance of £62.70 is taken off the Income Support but £34.60 is added on top. Carers Allowance then pay the £62.70. This amount can either be paid weekly, monthly or every 3 months. It looks like the person claiming the CA is worse off but infact they are £34.60 better off per week.
