Help me budget for a beach holiday

Thanks Pollycat that's really helpful. We are now also considering a European city (maybe Lisbon). Accomodation seems really reasonable and we could use public transport.
From what we have read Portgual seems reasonably for food as well. Other possibllities are Southern France or Germany.0 -
Have you considered Barcelona (if you've not already been)?
It's a fab city, great sightseeing, we loved the Gaudi buildings - maybe Nou Camp if your lad is interested in football).
And it's on the coast.0 -
Yes, thanks, Barcelona is on the list too!! We like our sightseeing but DH also likes a day on the beach so I could see this would be a food compromise. Sending myself a bit dizzy on Trip Advisor now. Any other tips welcome, appreciate you taking the time to help.0

I prefer Malaga as against Barcelona. It's not as big or as touristy, but easy to get around on foot, great places to eat and drink, and a super public transport infrastructure.
For somewhere to stay have a look at Nerja just up the road from Malaga. We stayed self catering at the Apartments Mediterraneo for 3 weeks in May.....not brilliant, but not bad either.0
