Why has this year-old thread been revived?
  • Because the times are still deploying shady hard sell tactics, that's why.

I've tried to cancel a few times and they talk me out of it each time. Those people would be excellent hostage negotiators. I think I'm just going to cancel my direct debit as it's too stressful to have to speak to them. Deliberate of course.

Which won't cancel the subscription and will cause them to chase you up for it so a pretty stupid thing to do overall.

Well whose fault is that? It's their job to try to get you to stay, and your responsibility to say no and mean it.
  • Well, yes, thanks agrinnall. I do understand that I'm allowing myself to be talked round. The double is, they are just making it too damn cheap that I can't resist. I'm now only paying about £4 per month. And the truth is I'd miss it if I gave it up. Just trying to shave more off my spending, but at 4 quid a month there's little incentive.

Just received a change to my subscription T&Cs. I was on a One month rolling Contract , with a 15 day notice period. As of 20th August 2020 I am on a whopping notice period that could equate to my 13 week voucher booklet.
For example they say if your voucher booklet ends on August 15 2020 then I need to call them no later than 15 days before this date. I can call before this date but I will have to use all the vouchers in the book as they will not be refunded.
The current setup is that they would be refunded.
Can the times just impose this ?
I suppose they can as they are effectively giving me 3 months notice !
They say the reason is to make things simpler !
More likely to effectIvely impose a 3 month notice period !

They can change the terms of their offer if they like.  You can cancel your subscription if you like.  If you carry on using the service after the change-over, they will assume you agreed to it.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.
