I have a sony z3 compact and recently found the swipe down from the top of the screen no longer works. It means if info icons appear i cant access them. If i turn the phone to the horizontal position it does work.
A second issue is random rapid clicks on screen happen even though i am not touching the screen. It seems to open the street view app alot. Whats gone wrong? Is my phone infected? This issue does not constantly happen. Turning the phone off and on usually helps.

Is the phone under warranty?
Have you tried a full factory reset?

Not under warranty and i want to avoid factory reset if i can.0 -
Give it a day or two to see if anyone else has another suggestion.
How old is the phone, a factory reset can be a good idea periodically to "spring clean" the phone.
As long as you have everything backed up(which you should do anyway) setting up again afterwards doesn`t really take too long.0 -

Thanks, i am just paranoid about something going wrong with factory reset. Would it reset to the original os or the most recent os that it has now? I wouldn't want to go back to the previous os and find the ability to update to the one it has now is no longer there. It currently has marshmallow. They wont be updating it to a newer version. It originally had lollipop.0 -
Factory reset reverts to the last firmware installed .0

The ghosting seemed to require a Wipe of the screen to fix it, since i wiped the screen it hasnt happened. Its a bit odd as i have let the screen get a bit icky before and it never caused a problem.
On the second issue where the swipe down does not work. I have been following advice from someone at sony mobile. Nothing made a difference, even a factory reset. I have let them know. I bet they just say i have to send it for repair.0
