Yes, we're all getting very casual.
10 years ago OH started a new job at a sort of middling level in the company. Everyone went to work in jeans, but OH was old enough to feel that this wasn't appropriate, so he wore a suit. The only other person in the whole plant who wore a suit was the Managing Director.
OH got three promotions in 2 years, left to work somewhere else, and 6 months later was head-hunted back with the offer of a directorship by - guess who.
Just saying.No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0 -
I'd rather be served by a friendly and professional cashier in jeans than by someone grumpy clad head to toe in 'smart' polyester.0

Personally, I would have gone to Moss Bros if I wanted to hire a suit - you can get them from £59... And you can buy 'em from Primark for even less...
