Advice on Mosquito Bites, Ouch!

I've heard about Avon, Skin so soft, also supposed to work a treat on Scottish Midgies! I always manage to get bitten on the first night and
then I am left alone for some strange reason. Of course the evidence
is there for all to see and you could play, join the dots on my bites.
Get the repellant on while you are still on the plane is my motto from now
on. I'm sure they all sit on the tarmac waiting for my plane to arrive

Having just come back from East Africa I swear by neat Deet, long trousers and long sleeves also plug-in repellents. This has worked well for me. Fellow travellers using a variety of brands were bitten and suffered on the trip. Deet is a bit smelly but with P20 sun screen and covered in Deet I felt well protected. I did spray some of my clothes and they washed up just fine.SallyD0

I always take Vitamin B tablets, starting a week before departing. Mozzies are supposed to hate the smell of yeast, somehow it's exuded through the skin so they steer well clear of such smelly bodies, and bite somebody else instead.
Another way of getting the yeast is to drink beer (or perhaps to bathe in it?) - at least that's a good excuse for a thirst quencher with breakfast!
Taking the tablets, at worst, isn't going to do any harm and is a defence which can be combined with using deet, long trousers and long sleeves. Better safe than sorry.0 -

No, silly-billy. You rub the marmite sandwich all over your skin.
But seriously, what else do you do on holiday but walk round p*ssed and smelling of garlic?0
