Location of gas meter
Hi,
Thank you in advance for any help on this.
After 10 yrs the last tenant has just left, just like that….
He has left a number of issues including the fact that we can’t currently find the gas meter.. (!)
He has closed the account with Npower – we have contacted them and they’ve mentioned we should contact Covent Energy Ltd? (We cant find their details)
Thank you

Are you suggesting the Tennant moved the Gas Meter
Try ToTo Energy they seem to be the new name for that supplier.
Leaving "just like that" is a whole topic to be dealt with in itself.0 -
Thank you for the reply..
Tbh I cant recall where the meter was originally so cant confirm either way. Doesn't seem to be in an obvious place however.
Yes 'leaving just like that' is another topic...0 -
Under the stairs, in a cupboard, in the porch, outdoor meter box ...................Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

I m a meter reader.https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Secondary-Gas-Meter-Replacement-Pipework-And-Seal-Kit/112765688708?epid=2175441328&hash=item1a415bdb84:g:9tMAAOSwooRZjeST
Its not uncommon for the energy thieves to simply bolt on a bridging pipe and remove the gas meter out of the equation altogether.
They do the same with the electric meters as well by removing them completely.. Cheeky beggers are that sure that no one is bothered they do not even replace the meters after many years of theft..
Suppliers will not prosecute even tho many thousands of pounds has been stolen
They simply pass on the losses for us all to pay.
There are some outrageous places to hide gas meter tho. I ve seen them in places you would not believe, including outside in a tunnel or in the roofspace, or under floorboards.
If you find the control valve, which turns the gas off completely, the meter is usually close to that0
