How do you delete instagram account, forgot password

Some time ago, I joined instagram but found no use for it. Just been back to it and it lies there. Cannot delete it because I can't remember my password. Any idea's please?

I had seen that, but no use.

I am in so must have checked "remember" password. But to delete account, need to know my password but have tried 17 known passwords, none work.

I don't know how to say "thank you" so meaningful. I spent hours yesterday trying to do this. I listed over 20 known passwords and entered each one to no avail. Even now, I don't know what I used originally, but your route sorted it.

I had nothing showing, nor had i ever had. It's just that I found no use for it and didn't want it hanging about in cyber space for ever. From googling, it is apparent that many others find deleting their account to be an issue simply because they cannot remember their password.

Again, one more thanks to add to your list.
