  • I haven't considered PIP, I wasn't even aware of it. I'll definately check it out. Sorry to ask again...

"The meeting is likely to look at whether your financial circumstances mean you qualify for the EDP of £15 pw." - I assume this decision is based on the amount of savings I have, ie more than £6k but less than £16k?

Yes, and if you have any other household income.
Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.

Thank you, I thought so. When my ESA was eventually swapped from contribution to income based an advisor told me one of the reasons they stopped payments was that I had £6000 in savings (which was utter nonsense), so I was under the impression it was a £6K limit for income related ESA.

Deductions start to be taken from benefit when you have £6k in savings, at a rate of £1 for every £250 (or part) over £6k. If you have £16k or above, entitlement to Income Based ESA ceases completely.
As an example, if you had £6600 in savings your ESA would reduce by £3 per week.
If you have pension income, that would also be taken into account. If you are claiming as a couple, any income or savings your partner has will also come into the calculation.
  • Thank you so much for your help and advice everyone

The letter says that your benefit will stop because it is a mandatory meeting that you must attend. They have to say that to you so you are aware it is a mandatory meeting and so, if you do not turn up, they are then legally entitled to suspend your payments until such time that you have attended a re-arranged meeting and a subsequent decison has been made.

It would be a lot easier if you told us how much ESA you get each fortnight? what it was i,e, £146.20 and what it is now i.e. "219.30 or £251.10 ?

And if you have a partner

And what your total savings are you and partner

And what your Occupational Pension income is Gross and Net amounts. you and partner
