Waiting for the gas engineer - want to wait with me?

Thought I'd just report back on how things went.

Our original problem was the hot water petering out. Turned out that the central heating itself also wasn't behaving itself - they were both turning themselves off and on when they shouldn't have been, it was just more noticeable with the hot water.

Engineer came to fix it but couldn't - that was on Saturday. She promised to come back on Monday and have another go, which was fine with me. Unfortunately she didn't turn the valves back on so by Saturday teatime we realised the heating was off. Another engineer came out late Sunday evening to sort that out.

Our original engineer came out on Monday, and had another go at fixing the original problem - but her second theory as to what was causing it came to naught, and she needed to order parts for her third theory. She came this morning - in the end we had three engineers (in three vans - the neighbours got very excited!), all looking at the boiler and scratching their heads. At one point they even rang the manufacturers!!

The upshot of it all is that it's now fixed, and they won't be charging me the call out fee.

Looking forward to a nice long shower in the morning.

And before you ask, LincolnImp - the £50 hasn't arrived yet. I feel a phone call coming on...
