ING Leasing Closed

Hi there,
My husband and I are in the process of going through all companies we may have had PPI with, to check whether we did I fact have PPI. We are having to write to quite a few companies to request original terms and conditions to even see if we had PPI with them before moving forward. One of them was ING Lease but the company is now closed. We think he had it in 2008-2010 or 2011 but have no paperwork. The place that he bought the van has given him his agreement number though.
Is there any used on trying to get information? If so, how would we go about finding information when the company (ING) is now closed.
Thank you in advance.

Do note that this method may not yield what you are after
e.g. the T&C is usually a generic document that is not personalised.
If you mean the original credit agreement, then they can charge you £1 and are only legally required to give it to you if the credit agreement is still open. if it is closed, they can (and usually do) refuse.
You may still get these if you do a data subject access request but that costs £10 per firm.
Usually, the best thing to do is just ask them if you had PPI. Not go on fishing expeditions that will probably not tell you what you need to know. We frequently see people come on this forum saying they can't see anything in the documentation supplied or that the lender will not supply info.
In respect of ING Leasing, it is not common to have PPI on these and the PPI issue was known before 2008 (i did my first PPI complaint back in 2004 for a client). By 2008, lenders were already stopping selling the bad types (the good types are still available to buy today). it was right at the tail end of the sale on credit linked PPI.
ING leasing have no liability for the sale of their products where a dealer or arranger was involved. You go to the car dealer that arranged the car as they would be the ones that sold any PPI, if it existed.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
