car insurance for future-but changing address after 2nd month

Hello

I have to buy a new annual car insurance next month. But i am moving from rented home to new own property after 2 months.
Can i buy car insurance with address change at the time of buying or i should buy car insurance with my future address .

Could you please share your experience.

You should use the current address at renewal and change it at the time you move.

The admin costs are possibly not the biggest issue, but rather the change to the premium. Your new address may result in a higher premium, so you will have to pay that to remain insured. It may also result in a lower premium, which would be a nice bonus.

I suggest running dummy quotes at both addresses to see how the premium is affected. (Don't use your real name and don't input your driving licence number or car registration).

Some insurance providers don't charge an admin fee for changes like this. If I remember correctly, one such is Direct Line, but they may not necessarily be the cheapest for the premium.

You can try - but you would still be causing extra admin which has to be paid for (you say "double admin and paperwork, but at worst you would only have one admin fee to pay for the mid term change)

(Do dummy quotes using you new postcode before renewing to get an idea if another insurer who "likes" your new address might be cost effective from renewal)
