He's 11 approaching secondary school so all homework will
Be done on it, he also likes gaming(minecraft), YouTube etc
And he's a Samsung nut and thinks it's the only product to buy!!
He has other Samsung products.
Any help would be great as I'm really bamboozled by all the choice out there.
Thankyou in advance. 🙈😩😊

    Sounds like a decent budget.

I'd be aiming for a minimum of :-
    • i5 processor
    • 256GB SSD drive
    • 8GB RAM

Will have a root around and see what i can find, but that should be your starting point.

    14 inch Lenovo

I've the i7 variant of this laptop - an HP Envy, but the i5 is in budget. Very slick - very Apple like to look at and very slim. Superb screen too...

If you want slick consumer goods with a wow factor thats probably the one.

My laptop is a samsung and is about 6 years old. A few years ago it got voted one of the most reliable models. Would I by another.... No!

Samsung sell the laptop to a specific version of o/s, windows 8 in my case, and you do not get any updated drivers for 8 at the time, no bios updates and the bios functions are restricted. I also get fan errors and limited processor speed on windows 10 due to the bios.

Also not being a popular make, spares are expensive and hard to get.

My choice would be a business lenovo, toshiba, or dell, in that order as they often support their products past the sales date.

With the latest cpu fiasco, current cpu designs may become outdated quicker and current ones perform slower due to software solutions.

thanks AlwaysHere, think you and AP did look into it some months ago. It did get one bios update from around win 7 to 8 time which has been applied, and the laptop does still work well. Googgling around others have the same issue with this model.

    NP350E7C is the model

I am unable to find any posts that indicate a problem with that device and Windows 10. Do you have any links?.
