    PVW aspect???

Praise, Vent and Warning, the board title. Pogofish doesn't see any Praise, Vent or Warning aspects in your thread.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales
  • The cash would be used to purchase another bike, which would his social travelling expenses as he could cycle to places he currently pays for public transport to, plus let's remember that they had the money for the bike when they sold it!

Yes,the WLT pay his travel expenses, up to a maximum of £30 per week. The nearest youth hostel is about 20 miles from Doncaster. The £45 per night includes breakfast and his evening meal, he has use of a fridge for food for his packed lunches and it's a 35 minute walk to work.

He did (of course) look for employment closer to home but even (for example) an entry level position in his field requires experience. He also applied for other jobs (cleaning, retail etc) with the idea he could continue to volunteer with the local WLT, but I guess there's a lot of competition for jobs like that. He's also signed up with an agency for work at Royal Mail sorting office about 10 miles from home but he works different days each week for the WLT and offers of shifts are usually only half a day in advance.
Regarding insurance, he wasn't covered because the bike was stolen from student accomodation and the door to the secure parking had been left unlocked by an unknown person. Suspect it was the caretaker as it was refuse collection day. ?

While this is all personal to you, none of it is remotely relevant to the court ordered compensation. The compensation arrangements are pretty standard across the board. As others have said, the money will arrive if and when it arrives - best thing to do is forget all about it and move on, then if anything does come through treat it as a surprise. In the meantime, you can easily pick up a cheap bicycle for less than £50 so he doesn't have to use public transport.

Original post was very factual. It was other posters who presumably were unable to provide an answer to my question "Any advice regarding moving this on and getting him his money appreciated " who went off tangent, just as you've done.
