A house fire alarm has been sounding just down the road - non stop for the last 32 hours
No idea who the home owners are, or where they are....
Who is responsible for dealing with it - the police or local council ?
I have asked both for help and neither want to get involved !!
When do noise abatement rules kick in ?

It’s the environmental health department of your local council. They have powers to act if it’s been over 1 hour (or 20 mins continuous)
There fobbing you off. Get back on to them.0 -
Council - but it doesn't look as if they will actually do anything to stop it unless you are in an Alarm Notification Area.

So we have to put up with it - until the owners return from holiday (or wherever they are) in maybe 2 weeks ?Council - but it doesn't look as if they will actually do anything to stop it unless you are in an Alarm Notification Area.

Maybe because it SOUNDS like a fire alarm (i.e. smoke detector)?

Quite how that could be so loud as to disturb someone "down the street" is another matter though. Alarms like that tend not to have external sounders.0 -
So when you rang the police and said an alarm was going off and there may have been a break in did they decline to come out?0
