I refused OH once. They said 'no OH, no job'. So literally had to me weighed, height measured as well as being questioned about my health whilst wearing nothing but my knickers. By someone who I didn't know was a proper nurse ir what. Sometimes you've just got to get on with it0

Trouble is, I didn't know when I agreed to be weighed etc wearing just my underwear, that the person recording the measurements would be the same person I would be seeing for the next couple of years managing me. So it was a bit embarrassing!0

Are you sure about that as that isn't what OH does. You didn't work for a dodgy organisation did you?
OP OH are there to support the worker as well as the employer and have limited powers and they do have to stay within certain legal parameters:

As above though in the organisations I have worked with a refusal to co operate with OH would be looked on as having something to hide, and as an employer could not be sure they were protecting you properly and if necessary making adjustments to support you on your return they would probably not want the employee back. So her lies to OH aren't that minor if they were sufficient to lead OH (and therefore her employer) to believe she will need a further period off work in addition to the initial 6 weeks for which she is signed off.
You have said that your wife is signed off due to injury - was it an injury at work? If it was then lying to OH will look even worse.0 -
Hi SG, I think your original posts, before you corrected them, seemed to suggest that you thought an employer couldn't dismiss if an employee refused an OH appt. Several posters made it clear that wasn't the case. Now you state that you don't think an employer will dismiss if contact with the consultant is refused. The next stage is that OH will write up a report, your girlfriend will read it before the employer receives it and ask for corrections to be made as needed. Your g/f will be called in to a sickness review meeting where the OH meeting will be discussed including adjustments that may need to be made, possible phased return and likely date for return.
Ultimately, at some point your g/f will have to repeat lies (white or otherwise) at a return to work meeting.Saving money right, left and centre0 -

If OH has asked to write to the consultant, it means that they are already having suspicions about what she's told them. Otherwise, they wouldn't bother. So either way, she's doomed. She says no you can't and they will draw the conclusion they are already suspecting, she agrees and they'll have the evidence they are looking for.
Lying was very stupid. Sounds like she said she needed surgery when it's not the case which indeed, would be a hard to justify having misunderstood.0
