Solicitors cost?

Hi all, what's the rough cost of a Solicitor to help me with my Mother's death and deal with her estate (roughly 240k) as she didn't leave a will.

Although the rules of intestacy apply, don't be tempted to hand all the administrative work to a solicitor.
Sorry but I don't know what they would charge. Although, just to give some idea. my solicitor usually charges £700 + vat for processing a will. They would charge a set fee plus percentage to admin the whole estate (probably 2-5%) and take an age to do it!0 -
