Morrisons Staff Gosport

I was appalled at the way a check-out operator spoke about me today
in Morrisons ,my "crime" was to use my Debit card to buy some produce under £1.00 and this is where i **USED** to do my family shopping
(not any more)
just as i was leaving the cashier laughed and spoke about this to all the other customers .I couldn't get any money from the ATM so thought it would be quicker to use the card as i only had £5.00 in the account.
when i told him the reason he said "why not "and laughed.
I asked him did he understand customer service... nothing more said!
I spoke with the manager who was very polite and listened he said he was suprised as this was one of Morrisons best cashiers!
I will now save any further Embarrasment by not going to Morrisons again
as this was totaly uncalled for and not deserved either.

Sorry to hear of your bad experience
I gave up on Morrisons years ago, due to similar issues with rude staff. I now do most of my shopping in Lee-on-the-Solent, a lovely village that still has the butchers (not that we use it as we are vegan/veggies
), fruit'n'veg shop, book shop, bakers....everything you used to find in small high streets, plus several charity shops which are usually well stocked as it is a rather affluent area. The people who work in the shops get to know you, there are large car parks close by and I believe it is vitally important to look after local, independant retailers. For anything I cant get in Lee, then sadly I have to go looking in ASDA, but I try to always look in Lee first. 0 -
Where has customer service gone in Morrisons?
this is not a good advert either as Safeway were
much more curtious and looked after their customers,
before the change over.I'm not talking about all the Cashiers but some
need more customer skills.0 -

you have some good ideas and as you mention good for local business too.0 -

There is also a particularly good fish & chip shop there. (sorry to go of topic!!!)0 -
When a new supermarket opens the staff are really keen and SO eager to please the customers. Once it's been opened a month most of the staff convert into "couldn't care less about customer service, don't bother me" types. Pleasant polite staff make you want to return. Managers should keep this in mind.0
