wanted high risk short term investment...

Hi

I have a CGT bill for this tax year of £3600 (due on next years self assessment)

I was looking for a high risk investestment which i will cash in before 4th april no matter what the loss/gain

If i lose it all i'll just put the loss against my cgt bill on next years self assessment :)

Any ideas please?

Have a look at WPCT, currently trading at a 9% discount and down 18% since Woodford launched it three years ago. Can't fall any further, surely...

Any short term option if you can do options trading out of your account.
I've always steered clear but i know it takes time usually to set your account up right.

Have you looked at EIS investments which could allow you to defer your CGT until such a time where you may not have any CGT liability?

Dignity plc (DTY.L FTSE 250) are down nearly 50% today.
Either shoot back up or continue down?

    Nope. Doesn't count against CGT.

Assuming a basic rate non-residential-property liability, a bill of £3,600 implies a gain over the allowance of £36,000.

If you invest £36,000 and lose the lot, you've thrown away £32,400 over a bill of £3,600. Classic case of the tax tail wagging the investment dog.

Although the downside is limited by the potential to offset losses, so is the upside because you're planning to cash it in on 4 April, so we know you'll be paying CGT on any gain, possibly at a higher rate.

Simple answer. Gold bullion. Then hang on to your wig, price down at moment.....but that’s today. https://goldprice.org

But don’t buy UK legal gold tender, they are CGT exempt..._
