A friend received a parking charge notice letter today for staying 13 mins more than the 1 Hour free on a local Kentucky Fried Chicken car park. There are a couple of little pics of the front and rear of the car but the pics show no details of dates/times. The alleged offence happened 7 days ago so the letter is within the time frame. Some people have said "just ignore it, they won't chase it up" but I would rather get more informed advice and pass it on to my friend. There has been no reply of any sort to the letter received as yet. Can anyone advise on the best course of action to take next please (even if it is to pay up). Thanks in advance for any replies.

It is not 'pay up'
The advice is to read the NEWBIES thread, send the template appeal there. CEL will fold!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD0 -
Everyone is politely asked to read up on this in the Newbies FAQ thread near the top of the forum before starting a new thread
Go there now for advice on how to deal with this and how it all goes down a well worn route0 -
CEL can and do "chase it up2 , including court cases by the truckload
those friends that say IGNORE IT are morons
it should be appealed using that blue text template appealing as KEEPER, then a popla appeal which includes several legal arguments but where GRACE PERIODS (plural) from the BPA CoP will feature prominently
separately, complain to KFC as a customer and get it cancelled, preferably showing proof of patronage0 -
My friend did not enter KFC that particular day they used the car park (it is next to a shopping centre). I looked at the newbies thread and template but got the impression the appeal letter was for if they hadn't sent the PCN letter out in the correct time period, was I right in thinking this or can my friend appeal using the template? Sorry for any inconvenience caused.0
