Well why ask that question then? Why not ask how much they would be prepared to pay for the specific picture, rather than some hypothetical figure based on what they may or may not have paid to other contributors? I doubt whether the OP will get anything now that the image has been withdrawn, although it's a good lesson to learn for the future.

Me saying it was irrelevant was in relation to you saying them normally paying £0 would put OP in a weaker position. I'm saying its irrelevant to the breach of copyright because thats not how copyright law is applied - it would be a pretty backwards way of applying it.
Otherwise pirates (or at least the minority of pirates who never/rarely pay for any type of media) would have a field day when caught for copyright infringement.You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
