Co-op Bank nobble telephone opening hours again

Co-op bank are once again reducing telephone banking opening hours, having only recently cut down from 24/7. The new hours will be 8am to 8pm 7 days a week.

I can nostalgically remember 24/7 armchair banking (as they called it then) launching in the early 90's, putting the pre-internet Co-op well ahead of the game. I do remember calling at some very strange times as a student.

Like everyone else I suppose I hardly need to speak to anyone now, the app and website do the job that the phone once did.

The closure of another 27 branches had barely made the news - just a few local pieces about particular branches. I guess this is just so common now.

The new owners are clearly on a mission to make sure this is once again a profitable bank. I hope they can succeed as I've always had great service.
