Gas water heating - timed or constant?

I've often wondered this. I have a combi-boiler in my small flat. Is it the same answer? I'm out most of the day but pop home lunchtimes. There's only me and 2 cats! My flat is so small I only have 4 radiators (but no dbl glazing). Is it cheaper for me to leave it on low or have 2 timed periods?
    Thanks anyone

It is cheaper to have 2 timed periods for the heating, by quite a lot if the flat only has single glazing. Can put it to come on half an hour before you get home so it warms up, but set it to go off a hour before you go out or to bed as it will stay warm for a while.

With a combi boiler you don't have a hot water tank so don't need to worry about hot water, as it will only heat as much as needed (senses when the hot tap is turned on).
