Actual sale prices on Rightmove

I lived in a house marketed at guide price £370,000-£410,000 - the price you would have seen when scrolling through the listings would be the £370,000 figure. As soon as the house got an offer the listing changed to SSTC at £410,000. The house actually registered on Land Registry as sold for £375,000 - but that wouldn't look as good for the agent would it?!0

Thinking about this though as a seller, I might not like that, as the sale might fall through and then if I had to put the property back on the market potential buyers would know what I was willing to accept in terms of an offer. Oh well, it was a good idea while it lasted....
I wouldn't like that as a buyer either. I paid under asking for this place but I've no doubt that if someone saw that, they'd come along and offer more once I'd started spending on sols etc. As it is, I'd prefer to be able to hide price paid as and when I like due to nosy family members etc.
If you phone the agent about an SSTC property, they wouldn't/shouldn't tell you what it went under for (unless the sale falls through and they say what it went under offer for last time).0
