Thanks for letting us know. I'm glad you got a second opinion, at least now you know what it is. Hope the situation settles down on the medication.

Sorry about your pup vwman....I hope the meds work & you'll have a long & happy life together.
We've been trying to use eukanuba, but our pup doesn't eat it unless mixed with eggs, chicken, cheese etc so I was going to try JWB...but if it's been taken over by pedigree, I'm not so sure. Mind you, I had a quick look on their website, & it said they are a family concern, so have I missed something?
Our pup also likes the natural low fat probio yog from sainsbury...it's thicker than the tesco one.

i dont know if this will help or not...

when we got our dog he had the terrible runs. we were feeding him a mix of dry and tinned puppy food. we took him off the tinned thinking that was the problem ut it continued.

it was actually the dry stuff that was upsetting his stomach!

Any indication of the meds working yet?

Our pup had a limp, & the vet gave him some anti-inflammatory jollop for a week that seems to have worked, but the test will be when he stops taking it. He may need further investigation if the limp comes back, or else they will check him again at a year old coz that's when probs can show up in his type......english bull terrier/staffie cross.

Have you checked out the homemade treats a bit further down the pets board for some possible ideas to spoil your pooch? Or maybe start another thread asking for ideas?

Aww--give her a cuddle from us:o & Best Wishes for a speedy recovery. BMFx

  • Hi
I also have a Doberman who had a terrible tummy, he is now 11 months old and is much better.
He was too skinny also - I have currently got him on James Wellbeloved Salmon and potato which seems to be much better than anything else I have tried.
We have tried a lot of different foods as our Golden Retriever pup is also epileptic. Have also tried raw food diet which they loved (less stink but they both lost a lot of weight on it - great for buddy the golden but not for Dobby the Dobe)
Do not give him pasta as a lot of dogs have wheat allergies - thats why the potato & salmon is best.
If you want to cook him food try sticking to potato as the bulker - not pasta and always blend the veg as they cannot properly digest celulose (the outside of the veg).
I hope this helps and give him a couple of weeks without wheat to see if that helps before you give up - also beef can be a trigger to a bad tummy also.

    Julie
