What tablet screen ratio is best for watching movies?

Options
Hello.
I have recently bought a galaxy tablet for watching movies but not getting the best experience as I appear to be missing some of the film's.
I was wondering what the best screen size would be for this.
Thank you

Tablets default is usually the best .
A lot depends upon how the videos where coded and the play you use .

What makes you think you are missing some of the film ? Are you getting black bars at the top / bottom ? These are normal for a lot of films btw

Most tablets will be 16:9 or 16:10 aspect ratio. (2.11:1 or 1.6:1). Many films are shown in 1.85:1 or 2.39:1, which means they may be wider than the aspect ratio of the tablet. Accordingly there may be black bands top and bottom as the player app will fit the film to the width of the tablet screen.

This. A particular film is in one ratio. Others in different. TV likewise. Your tablet is only one ratio and can't change.

Black bars are needed unless you like to pervert the picture and make peopls short and fat or tall and thin depending upon the change.

Lots of tablets these days are 4:3.

Good for browsing, poor for movies.

A few are 4:3 but the majority have a 16:10 ratio.

    That's my experience too. For example my Fire 7" tablet is 1280 x 800 resolution = 1.6:1 = 16:10.
