Brand new VW warranty issues.

Excellent, thank you so much for your replies, you've been no end of help.
Hopefully it all gets sorted without a problem but fingers crossed.0 -
A brand new car would not have 120 miles on the clock.
The VIN will reveal the build date and it may have been stood in a yard for months.
Unfortunately you are dealing with VW who get poor customer service ratings for a reason. Had it been my car I’d not let them touch it and certainly wouldn’t pay £270 until I had inspected the disks.
After 9,000 miles my current car developed a wheel wobble slowing from high speeds, signs of a warped disk.
Dealer did a full check at first service, one disk was indeed out of true. Both changed with no fuss or bother.0 -
I would be tempted to go into the dealership and ask the question " is this VW,s answer to the problem or yours as i am going to contact VW direct " if you get no where with VW,put it on social media that the cars are crap and so is the back up,do not pay for new parts with a car that age/mileage0

When you go back to the dealership, have a wander round their outside forecourt. I bet there's a few cars that have been sat for a few weeks. The discs will probably be a bit rusty, but nothing that shouldn't come off with a spirited drive.
I'd be kicking up right fuss about this.
My '15 Skoda Fabia gets rusty discs after a few days stood. All cleared by the time I'm on the main road...0 -

That's a very good point, are the dealership saying that any second-hand car they have on their forecourt which hasn't moved in 3 weeks will need new brake discs (furthermore, is this the same for all VW dealerships or just these mad people).
Surely they should just change them out of good customer care.
OP: ask the dealership to put their comments into writing and forward a complaint to the chairman of VW (Herbert Diess).
bet his email is something like firstname.surname @volkswagon.deI have a tendency to mute most posts so if your expecting me to respond you might be waiting along time!0 -

Possibly not now, but in the past some new cars were driven from the factory (in UK), to the dealership, a brand new car with 300 miles on the clock would not be unusual. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
I'd be speaking to VW customer services directly rather than the dealership. Explain to them that it isn't reasonable for discs to need replacing after only 2,000 miles on the clock.Yeah I'm sure I could find a build date somewhere with a little digging, I'm going back in to VW tomorrow, I guess I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to say to them.
Any ideas what I should be asking?

Id certainly be contacting VW direct and telling the dealer as well . This work is warranty all day long if their diagnosis is correct with such low miles0

Hey guys,
Thanks again for all your replies, I'll be heading in tomorrow and bringing up all your points with the dealership, failing that it'll be VW directly, failing that, Well, hopefully it doesn't make it that far.
My girlfriend's dad is a mechanic so he said he'll pop in with us and see what's going on. I don't think we're going to pay it. It's simply unacceptable that this has occurred.
Like I said thanks for all your replies they've been a great help.
Cheers.0
