Health insurance for visitors from abroad

Hi,

My parents are visiting me from India and I have to take them insurance for their period of stay and I'm really confused on few things,

1. Does travel insurance cover medical issues during their travel? or separate travel and medical insurances?
2. Does UK companies offer these insurances or should I get them insurance from Indian companies.

Please suggest what do to.

It will need to be Indian insurance, although I suppose a specialist broker here may cover it. Here, you'll normally be covered whilst travelling too, I'd guess it's the same in India. Emergency care in A&E is free, but anything else will quickly add up and the NHS is very hot on non-residents at the moment. You need to ensure that there's enough cover for inpatient costs (including intensive care), investigations (like CT/MRI/blood tests etc), specialist procedures (like coronary angiography, surgery) and repatriation to India (very, very expensive).
