I'm not having a very good day I feel like I've been writing cheques all morning:mad: I changed our home insurance last week saving over £35 a month the only thing was though................when I got the details through it insisted on us having certain locks on our doors which we didn't have or the insurance was void. So I phoned a locksmith and they came today to replace one and put a further 2 on another door cost - £134.75:eek: . I mean I know we'll get the amount back in reduced insurance costs but it was a lot of money to have to pay that I wasn't expecting. Then I got a letter from DS1's school asking for £30 for a school house top and seeing as he is Head of his House at his school I can't really say no, then I got another bill for a school tracksuit for DS2's school I need to pay them £55 for it:eek:  and he's only 4:mad:  Unfortunately it is school specific and there is NO alternative, I tried the school shop for a second hand one and I did manage to get one but the trousers were threadbare and so bad they gave it to me for free. Unfortunately they really are now beyond repair. Oh now the roofing man has just been and I had to give him a cheque for £154:eek:  DD's class is going on a school trip to France for £340 and they want a £75 deposit.................

I give up..... I'm so fed up, I was going to take the kids swimming this afternoon but that will cost nearly £10 and after this morning I really don't want to spend anymore money at all.

Am worrying about OH's credit file, as we applied for a 0% Goldfish card for him last week and he was turned down...

I applied for an Egg 0% yesterday & got turned down - was unsure whether it would be my defaults (most recent was over 2yrs ago), CCJ with 8m to go, or the fact that I now have no loans/cc's or anything else, apart from my O2 bill & 2 payments on my HFC 0%....

    Give me a clue someone?!

I have been rejected for all sorts and I have NEVER had a CCJ or default etc!! Can't even get a vanquis card for cashback :o

I think that a large factor is that the lenders are being far more stringent now then they have been over recent years - the recent credit squeeze in the market has worried them a bit, plus they are coming under more pressure to be seen as "responsible" so they are turning people away who last year they would have been falling over themselves to lend money to!

Have been sorting mort application out so I can get a fixed rate. Went to see a friend who gave me lots of TLC and was lovely & my best mate sent me flowers (while ack that I would prob have pref the money!)...going to have a snooze as feel cried out & exhausted...Vet was lovely & didnt charge for the injection & showed me out the back way so I didnt have to go through the full waiting room...what a sweetie.

I know how you feel - our cat Stanley developed a blood clot at the base of his spine which paralysed his legs, we had to take him to the emergency vets at 11.30 at night, so luckily for me there was no-one to see me crying.

Will you get another cat when you feel ready? I wanted to, but was about to move to Blackpool to live with DF on a busy main road, so a new feline friend is on hold until we have a garden & quieter street.

    Love Floss xx

IA I know it doesn't take a lot to confuse me, but if you owe B'card
£430.64 and owe Egg £478.48 then you owe £909.12 not £909.18

    I've just saved you 6p!!!:j :j
