VIBER chat history - move from one phone to another?

Hi,

I am changing phones and SIM cards/telephone numbers.

I'd like to transfer my existing Viber chat history from my old phone to my new phone.

I've read how to do this - create a back up of messages on old phone and then ask to "change my number". The difficulty I have is the version of Viber on old phone is very old and doesn't have either of these options. I can't update it because the phone's software is so old I can't download modern Apps any more.

I've tried creating an email back up of history and copying that to the new phone's memory then installing viber on new phone. It hasn't worked.

I've tried plugging old phone into PC and copying all the Viber files I can find on old phone to PC and then to new phone. That hasn't worked either.

Please does anyone know what else I can do to get this sorted?

I have raised a ticket with Viber but they've just come back with an unhelpful message saying they don't store my messages so can't help.

Honestly, ditch Viber.

I've been its biggest fan for years, but in the last year the desktop app has turned into a piece of junk, the call and video functionality is terrible compared to Whatsapp and Skype.

Backup all the photos and anything important, and make the jump. Its worth it.
