Bought one of these yesterday, reduced to £7, as we like curries and casseroles, and the meat tends to burn to the bottom of the pan on the gas ring.
However, the instructions are the soul of brevity - no mention of what each of the power levels are. Can someone who has used one of these please tell me what you use LOW, HIGH and AUTO for? I have some pork cubes that need cooking for 6 o'clock!
:j Thanks :j

Hi there
I don't have that make of slow cooker...but with any i have always started everything off on high and after everything in there is hot i switch to auto..that way your machine will keep adjusting for you..if you are planning on going out i would switch it onto auto before leaving and then leave it to it...
Hopefully you will get more advice soon-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

Hi eileenfromplaistow,
My old slow cooker had low, high and auto contols. Like Mrs Mac said I start everything on high to get it hot as quickly as pos and then used auto as that seemed to keep the temperature even. However if you are putting pork cubes on now and planning to eat at 6.00pm, I'd go for high and then once the contents are hot, switch to low as pork is the one thing that I have found become a bit dry in the SC.

I've spent the past couple of hours going through the big Slow Cooker thread but I am still none the wiser
I'd like to make a chicken curry for tea tomorrow but I have no idea how long to cook it for or what temp? It has 3 settings low, high & auto?
Any help massively appreciated!
PS - Read about using Pataks curry pastes, would I need to brown the chicken with the paste before putting the tinned toms & veggies in?
Sorry to be appear so dense but I really am stuck!**Trying my best to be the best that I can**
