Hi
I'm thinking about switching banks from First Direct to HSBC. Can anyone tell me if I would be eligible for the £150 switching offer as I will be switching from First Direct which is part of HSBC.

Hi SpongeLimbo.
Yes you will be eligible, I have done exactly the same, and also claimed my £100 for leaving First Direct.
Hope all goes well with your switch.0 -

Thank you Zandimos
You came along just in time to confirm this. Discussed here:

Oh that's brilliant Zandimos!:j I suppose you have to claim the money from First Direct. Do you know if this is a time limited offer from First Direct? Incidentally I have been with them for 25 years so it will be a bit of a wrench to leave. They have brilliant customer service :Tbut, apart from their regular saver, have absolutely stinking interest rates:(.0

But that doesn't preclude you from using banking products from other providers! You don't have to put all your eggs in one basket, in fact in this day and age of internet meltdown / viruses it would be wise to spread your loyalty!!
Think other current a/cs such as Tesco, TSB for one thingBeing polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Thanks for your reply Katiehound. Your point is very important. I've probably given the wrong impression in my original post as I also have accounts with Santander, Halifax and Marks & Spencer. These are the accounts I do the account tarting with. All of them currently give me something a little bit extra which you just don't get from First Direct. They save all their goodies for newbies so I'm off out!0

The only thing I would say is that once you have been a customer with 1st Direct (however many eons have passed!) you can never receive a welcome handshake. Frustrating that as I was a customer loooong ago and never had a welcome from them in the 1st place......Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!
