Do car speeding fines (3 points) affect your car insurance price?(renewal increase?)

    When I got my last 3 points back in 1990 my insurer said "everyone is allowed 3 points" and it made no difference. The current trend is to keep headline prices low and make up the difference by adding charges for the slightest change in circumstances.

    I have had a few SP30's over the years. The difference to the premium is marginal. If the premium is hiked too much, go elsewhere.

    It depends on the insurer, mine didn't go up.

    Given that the fine is the same price as the SAC, why would you not do the latter?
