Back to the wording on his policy.
And back to my question "Have you ever seen a policy which didn't require all accidents to be reported?"

But until he’s asked about it he hasn’t made any false representation.
I'll put good money that his policy requires him to notify any incidents within a certain time period - and the renewal/quote questions most certainly always ask.

Given the wording on some the offence isn’t as clear cut as you make it out to be as no claim has yet been made.

Every policy I've seen refers to accidents, whether a claim results or not.

Beware of the friend producing a quote.

    Chance of fictitious damage report.

Debate the legalities all You like but the reality is it happens day in day out across the country. The whole point of a cash deal is neither party involves or notifies the insurer so they don't have an excuse to up your premium..

Sit on your pedestal all you like but that's the way it is.

Yes, a lot of people do lie to their insurers.

Some of them get caught, and wish they hadn't.

You were the negligent one, not him. Stop trying to look for ways to escape to your legal liabilities.
Hell fire what is wrong with this forum? Did you not read the guys post?

    Hi everyone,

I had my first ever car accident today. I do believe that I was at fault so I'm not here to ask about that.

So debtdebt what's the need in your pointless attitude? Who said the OP was looking for ways to escape anything? OP said it was their own fault.

It's a shame that there's actually more people like you on this forum - looking for things that don't exist.
If it makes you feel better report his lack of MOT to the Police. Most he will likely get is a £100 fine.
"if it makes you feel better"?

And i bet if he said he found a car that had no MOT but was on the road and he's not going to do anything about it you'd want to crucify him for that too?
Also, why is it that when someone on here hits a third party and it's their fault, the impact speed is always very low and the damage always looks minimal???
Also why is it that when someone comes to this message board to ask a question there's always a group of morons to jump on that persons thread, look for things that don't exist and when they don't find them they just make things up anyway.

    Yup, agreed.

Last year someone hit me & drove off.

I told the insurance because that's what you're supposed to do right?

He denied any involvement. The end result is that for the next 5 years i get a hike in my premium (i didn't claim as i didn't want the car written off) as i have to say yes i've been in an accident and he doesn't have to declare a thing.

Yeah how great it was telling the insurance. Really feel like i achieved something :wall:
