Sky Broadband

Yep. Sky connect is effectively BT. Since it's used on an exchange which isn't LLU it's using BT equipment and would have an 8 Mbps max, but lenny isn't getting this.
However, the maximum speed you can can still depends on your line.
If your line should be capable of more than the 2.6 Mbps according to the line stats then it's worth investigating.
That's why I suggested checking out the skyuser forum. There is an amazing amount of info and knowledgeable people there who can help work out whether you are getting what you should whether you are on the base/mid/max or Connect package.
Yes ferni I visit skyuser forum frequently and as you say there is an amazing amount of info there and people are very knowledgeable and helpful. I actually checked my exchange and capable line speed before I ordered sky broadband - my line at that time showed it was capable upto 8mb, therefore I opted for the MID PACKAGE of upto 8mb.
My speed is averaging around the 6-7mb and am quite happy with it, although it may be that I could get more out of it.
As I understand it the SKY CONNECT isn't as good.0 -

Yes. It's BT equipment on a BT line and goes over their network . Plus I think there is packet shaping and maybe throttling at peak times.
Plus if there is something wrong then I think Sky have to raise all the complaints via BT which it makes it difficult to get sorted.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
