Audio commentary with soaps, problem.

We hav a Panasonic Viera TV and frees at and a recorder. In June last year, we set it to record emmerdale, Corrie & eastenders each episode, this it has done. On Sunday, we had two short power failures, then checked to see if either had cleared our recording request. They were unaffected.

Tonight, we have sat to watch. Eastenders BBC and emmerdale ITV

Both had audio commentaries which presumably are for the blind.

We are wondering if the power failure can see the settings to change, or if I have inadvertently pressed a button.

Tomorrow morning, if no-one has offered advice, I will reluctantly experiment but I'm of the opinion that not all programmes have an audio commentary, so that might prove frustrating. So if anyone can offer advice, we would be so pleased, thanks.

I dont watch the soaps but often programmes repeated late at night/early hours have the audio commentry and sign language added.

Maybe it recorded those and not the ones in the evening?

No, it always records those at the same time they are broadcast. Ulysses I record in HD, we normally watch them in recorded state a few mins after they've started.

  • Corrie, beastenders& emmerdale . So sorry :)
There should be a button on your remote marked AD
that stands for audio dialogue . If you press that , it should eliminate the problem . Hope that helps .

Hopefully it is sorted. The audio button on the control when pressed, didn't action anything.

On remote, I pressed MENU>SETTINGS>PREFERENCES>AUDIO>then the words ENABLE & DISABLE were visible, with ENABLE highlighted. I highlighted DISABLE.

Tonight will reveal if this has worked.
