Old PPI Claim?

Hi
I am new here so hope I am posting in the right place! I know for sure I had PPI on credit cards and possibly loans and my mortgage but these were in the 90's and early 2000's I can't remember my lenders (well I can on a couple of store cards and one credit card) and have no paperwork anymore. On the help page it suggests checking your credit report but I don't think the records will show as they are too old. Is there anything I can do?
many thanks in advance!

You could write to any lenders you do remember, but other than that, if you don't have the information from more than 6 years back, no one else will.
It's unlikely the lenders would still have records of you in any case.0 -
Thanks for the quick reply.
So you're saying it's a lost cause without any evidence on my part then?0 -
Pretty much.
Never say never but I wouldn't be investing much energy into it.0 -
What a shame as I am sure I paid a fair bit!
Thanks for the reply0 -
You dont get it back just because you paid it, it has to have been miss sold with evidence to back it up.
If you cant remember who you had dealings with you wont be able to remember if it was miss sold, make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

Just to satisfy your curiosity why not contact all those lenders and ask if they have any records of your credit cards and loans. No one on this forum knows for sure whether any information about your borrowing history still exists.
Most lenders have their own dedicated PPI helpline shown on their websites. You could also send a SAR for a more in depth search of their archives. However it would really help them locate your details if you can provide the relevant account numbers, so try and get hold of old bank statements from your bank to see if there is any mention of direct debit payments to previous lenders lenders.0
