Claims Company and VAT

I have used a CMC in a packaged bank account claim which was successful.
I have received an invoice for the due amount which I am happy to pay however they have levied 20% VAT on my invoice.

Is this correct?
Thanks

The complaints process is free of charge to use. The CMCs are not providing any intermediary services or retailing exempt products. So, it's vatable.
