How do I connect this 40mm (ish) chrome push fit waste to existing 32mm sink waste?

Hi all
In her wisdom, my wife recently went shopping for a few grocery items and returned with a new cloakroom toilet set. I now have the task of fitting this new bathroom suite if I value my Friday nights out with the lads. So, after I ripped out the old sink I discovered that the waste for that old sink has 32mm Hepworth written on the pipe. I’d like to keep this pipe in place because it fits snugly behind the skirting and also the exit hole to the grid outside is the perfect size. So, Iuinboxed all the new items and I have found that the new sink Waste (Chrome push thingy) is a different size to the 32mm Waste pipe. The Chrome sink waste appears to be 40mm (ish) and is threaded at the bottom. So, I assume I need to buy a ‘U’ bend that somehow will screw into the bottom of the Chrome waste but how (and where in the chain do I get from 40mm (ish) Chrome Waste down to 32mm pipe? Is there a ‘U’ bend that is 40mm (ish) at the top but has an exit size of 32mm? Or do I reduce elsewhere?
Thanks all.

Difficult to see without pics how much space there is but I would use a reducer as above and then a flexible 32mm pipe to the waste.0 -
Do you have a trap attached to the sink waste? The u bend or bottle trap will probably take you down to 32mm (unless you have a bath waste but I doubt that would fit a wash basin).0

If your waste looks like this https://www.screwfix.com/p/sprung-basin-waste-slotted/41691#product_additional_details_container
Then the threaded bit is about 40mm but this is a 32mm waste it would attach to any of these 32mm traps.
